OLE is The Great learning Exchange for Everyone
The program organized by OLE is really great thing for developing nation like Nepal. Obviously, it will be valuable for promoting IT in Nepal. It also help to connect our nation in global village. Doing volunteer in society is really great thing, I hope the OLPC workshop and OLE program guide to everyone for doing social works in coming future. The program organized in prime college is really valuable and applicable for young and enthusiastic people. I think it will help people to join in social networks and help to feel we and us rather than I and me. I’ve learn various thing and valuable suggestion from OLE workshop and want to tell each and every people join in OLE social network and share some idea and knowledge for making the bright nation.. OLPC Game Jam
The fist OLPC game jam was successfully held yesterday Dec 15th 2007, at Prime College in Kathmandu. The purpose of the game jam was mainly to familiarize students, teachers and enthusiasts with squeak, its history, and how it is used to develop various applications–such as the activities developed by OLE Nepal. The event was intended to be a fun learning session rather than a programming lesson, and I can gladly say that participants enjoyed the event. About 25 people attended the event but the most interesting and an important part that made this game jam a success was diversity. There were students of different grades, teachers with various background, the extremely talented OLE development team and expert like Bert Freudenberg who talked briefly about the history of squeak and EToys, and showed some intriguing demos that set the tone for the day.

Template really helps
Few weeks back I have created an activity named “object identification”. It took me a week to complete that activity. Basically, It displays object and we have to identify its name from list of options. Image, sound and text are the integral components of this activity. After working on few more activities We have realized that it will be better if we could develop a template to make such activities. So, I invested few days to make a template for multiple choice activity. Once it has completed I have told one of my team mates that If I could create three multiple choice activities within three hours then this template can be consider worthy. To my surprise, it takes less than three hours to complete three multiple choice activities. So, now I have realized that if any thing is recurring then creating a template really speed up activities development process.
