Continuing our fruitful effort @ Kirtipur
OLE Nepal's Earthquake Relief Effort has been producing positive results in both Child Friendly Spaces of Kirtipur and Khokana/Bungamati. Our volunteers have been traveling every day to provide relief for children by engaging them in interactive activities using our education tools. Relief efforts at Khokana and Bungamati
Last week, our team members visited the Khokana and Bungamati areas to observe the situation of the people, particularly the children. After understanding the critical environment of the area, our team decided to carry on the relief effort to help children engage in learning. OLE Nepal, in collaboration with Loo Niva Child Concern Group, is advancing the relief effort at their Child Friendly Spaces (CFS). Volunteers from OLE Nepal and Loo Niva oversee the session and help children invest their time in learning.

Sindhupalchowk: ruins and relief
On May 20, I traveled from Kathmandu to Liskankhu, Sindhupalchowk, to help with a relief program. Sindhupalchowk is one of the most severely damaged districts by the earthquake. It had been less than two months since I had traveled the same area admiring beautiful, lush villages. Now, to see the same villages turned into rubble was heart-wrenching. But it was also relieving to see people coming together to help each other. Many temporary houses were built along the way through the locals' efforts, and I was also able to witness a relief program that was very well-managed by the village committee.
