ROBOTICS PROGRAMMING

WHAT IS ROBOTICS PROGRAM?

Our Robotics Program is designed to promote STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education and 21st-century skills among students in Nepal. By engaging students in hands-on learning activities with robots, we aim to cultivate their problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork abilities.

It is one of the key programs in OLE Nepal.  The program is being implemented in 9 secondary and 2 Basic schools in Lalitpur Metropolitan City in coordination and support from Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Nepal and KDDI Foundation, Japan. Through this program, the students from grades 6 to 8 are being taught basic instruction or codes that control the behavior and action of a robot.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Robotics program is one of the key programs in OLE Nepal.  The program is being implemented in 9 secondary and 2 Basic schools in Lalitpur Metropolitan City in coordination and support from LMC and KDDI Foundation. Through this program, the students from grades 6 to 8 are being taught basic instruction or codes that control the behavior and action of a robot.

The main purpose of this program is to promote logical and creative thinking of learners through use of robotics programming. The schools are provided with kits that students can use to design and build robots, which can be programmed to carry out various tasks using simple child-friendly visual programming tools.

The benefits of this program are that it helps to promote critical and logical thinking of learners. The robotics program are designed in a way that it allows individuals and groups of learners to think and develop creative solution to problems. Learners often work in team to tackle the challenge which helped to improve their communication and interpersonal skills.

For all of our products, they are and can be supported by different donors in different years or components can be funded by multiple donors at the same time. The program is supported by the KDDI- Foundation, Japan and also in coordination with Lalitpur Metropolitan City (LMC), Nepal.

Testimonials

I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to learn about Robotics. Despite the setbacks caused by the lockdown during my fifth grade, I was fortunate to resume my interest in this fascinating field. Under the guidance of our instructors, I discovered the intricacies of building cars, dozers, and other models. I found this to be incredibly captivating. It offered a unique blend of creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning. The ability to bring inanimate objects to life and witness their movements was awe-inspiring. The feeling of accomplishment when our creations successfully completed tasks was indescribable. The knowledge and skills I acquired during these Robotics lessons have left a lasting impact on me. It not only expanded my understanding of technology but also nurtured my passion for innovation and engineering.

Robotics was a completely new concept to me when I first encountered it. I had no idea what it entailed, but as I engaged more with it and began practicing, things started to click. I soon realized that practice was key to unlocking its mysteries and expanding my knowledge. One particular moment that stands out for me was when I was presented with the opportunity to construct a dozer. The project fascinated me, and I became fully invested in understanding its functions and exploring how we could control it using a remote. The more I delved into the world of robotics, the more my interest grew. I discovered that hands-on experience and experimentation were crucial for deepening my understanding. It was a rewarding journey of discovery, and I'm grateful for the chance to explore the captivating field of robotics.
