Gorkha School Construction Update

The reconstruction of schools damaged by the April 2015 earthquake Gorkha is well underway, with wall-level construction already been completed at Sital Danda Primary School, Hamsapur. The groundbreaking ceremony there, took place on November 10, 2016. A traditional ceremony was performed by the local people, during the field visit by OLE Nepal’s Project Coordinator, Ganesh Ghimire, and Project Engineer, Ujjwal Marasini.

The wall level construction will start soon at Kalika Primary School in Simjung. Foundation construction at Olang Primary School, Kharibot has started since January 20, 2016.

With the construction going on as planned, OLE Nepal will launch the laptop program in April 2017. Gorkha School Reconstruction Project is supported by AirAsia Foundation.
