Revisiting our Program schools in Baglung

In the process of providing support to our program schools, OLE Nepal’s team of trainers and  engineers recently conducted a support visit to six of the program schools in Baglung district.The laptop program in Ganesh Secondary, Janta Secondary , Mahendra Secondary, Rudrapipal Secondary, Tribhuvan Secondary and Prithivi Higher Secondary School was implemented in 2012 with the support from Embassy of Finland’s Fund for Local Cooperation (FLC) Program.The teachers from these schools had previously received different stages of training regarding integration of digital learning into the classroom at various stages since 2012.

The visit was conducted from  December 26, 2015 to 2 January,2016 with the purpose of monitoring and providing technical support to these schools. During the visit, the team checked the status of E-Paati, school network and provided technical support depending upon the need of schools. The team found that some of the schools were having problem with chargers, patches on screen of E-Paati and disruption in school network. The team provided additional chargers to the schools  on the basis of  need and number of E-Paati available in their school.

Apart from technical assistance, the team also updated E- Paati with the latest version of content. The schools now have access to grade seven content on Science, Math and English subject. The schoolserver was also updated with latest content which OLE Nepal releases in regular time intervals. The school server now contains over 7,000 books on various subjects and different educational materials in many fields. The team later oriented and demonstrated the updated content to the teachers in each school.

The team also added additional desktop computers available in the schools with the school server. The schools now can run E-Pustakalaya in the desktop computer as well. Taking this opportunity, the team also conducted interaction programs with each school’s staff  team  to discuss and get the update about the program.
