OLE Nepal successfully launches phase III program

OLE Nepal successfully launched phase III laptop base teaching learning program in Bajhang.

Bajhang laptop program has been successfully extended to phase III, reaching altogether forty three primary schools. Team comprising of trainers and volunteers conducted seven day basic training for twenty primary school at Chainpur, Bajhang. OLE Nepal in cooperation with UN’s World Food Program (WFP), District Education Office (DEO) Bajhang has already implemented its E- Paati (laptop) base teaching learning program in 23 primary schools in phase I and phase II. Including the support from the Embassy of Finland this year, the program is extended to 20 new primary schools.

The basic training program mainly aims the teachers to familiarize the E-Paati (XO laptops) and its function along with the highlighting the importance of integrating digital learning educational resources within their teaching learning process. Beside this, the program also focuses on how to effectively integrate the ICT in classroom teaching, how the teachers can prepare and effectively use lesson plan for integrating E- Paath (a national curriculum based digital content) with the textbook content in their regular teaching process. Additionally, different session related classroom management along with its techniques and its necessity for effective classroom teaching were also shared during the session. The teachers were also practically trained regarding the the connection of school network, operate school server and updating the laptops.

The training program received good support from government officials, Mr.Surrendra Bhadur Kathyat, Asst. District Education Officer inaugurated and concluded the training program with positive notes. The representative of World Education, Nepal Redcross Society Bajhang chapters and Food For Education were also present in the opening and closing of the program.

Following the training, XO laptops along with basic networking equipments were handed to the respective schools for integration of new approach of teaching in their schools. The team of volunteers will also assist these school regarding the pedagogical and technical aspect of the program.



During one of the training sessions, the team also invited local journalists to attend and observe the ongoing teacher training. The main objective of this information dissemination program was to aware the media personnel about OLE Nepal and WFP’s ICT in education program in Bajhang and for wider community awareness.
