Extending the reach of pustakalaya in Chitwan
July 13, 2015 | Chitwan
OLE Nepal in collaboration with Shanti Griha established a digital library in Jana Jyoti Primary School of Chitwan district.
Shanti Griha, an organization working to improve the living standard of people, initiated a wonderful project for the school where five desktops loaded with OLE Nepal’s E-Pustakalaya and E-Paath contents were provided to the schools. This school had been aided by Shanti Griha to enhance various school infrastructures and resources, and E-Pustakalaya installation was also part of their initiation towards uplifting the teaching methodology in the school.
The program took place from July 13 to 15, 2015 where our team comprising of Mr. Ganesh Ghimire and Mr. Bikram Dhoju installed the E-Pustakalaya servers in the library. They provided participants with orientation about the digital content, gave information on the network architecture, introduced basics to Linux mint and the ideas about troubleshooting the system. The program saw the participation of 4 teachers and 2 volunteers.
This fruitful collaboration helped in bringing vast array of educational materials to the school, which will not only benefit students but also teachers in their everyday teaching-learning process.
