Shree Rastriya Primary School
OLE Nepal’s ambition to provide quality learning resources to the students from marginalized communities is finally coming into life. After the successful development of learning contents in Chepang, an indigenous language of Nepal, we are finally providing them to the students in collaboration with the Embassy of Finland.
Our pilot project for digital Chepang learning resources will be implemented in Shree Rastriya Primary School of Chitwan district which was finalized in recommendation by District Education Officer Mr. Damodar Acharya. Our team of two, Mr. Tika Raj Karki and Mr. Deepak Shrestha surveyed the school located in Korak VDC of Chitwan between June 30 to July 2, 2015.

Primary students in their classroom
Schools were surveyed on the basis of important criteria such as, school with majority of Chepang speaking students and majority of Chepang speaking teachers. Along with the above mentioned components, commitment of schools towards child-friendly learning opportunities was also equally important. It was also important for the schools to have basic infrastructure to carry forward the program with same determination and dedication as well as to have strong community support.
OLE Nepal is very excited to see children enjoy learning in their own language!
