E-Pustakalaya Demonstration and Interaction Program in Pokhara

June 12, 2014 | Pokhara

The E-Pustakalaya demonstration and interaction program was organized by OLE Nepal in Pokhara right after the writers workshop. The teachers and students of different schools of Pokhara were invited on June 12, 2014 in RC Complex in Lamachaur, Pokhara.

The participants were shown various materials currently available on E-Pustakalaya. The attendees of the program were also introduced to the usefulness of the offline E-Pustakalaya server from OLE Nepal. During the demonstration, various sections of E-Pustakalaya were shown. In addition to that, the participants were also introduced with the ‘browsing’, ‘searching’ and ‘linking’ features of E-Pustakalaya. This feature makes it very easy for users to search for information.

After observing the demonstration, the participants queried about the learning materials and their availability according to the levels. Furthermore, the school representatives also tried to learn about the cost and ‘terms of use’ of offline E-Pustakalaya that could be used without the cost of internet. A total of seventy participants, representative teachers and students from Gandaki Boarding School, Indra Rajya Laxmi HSS, Saraswoti Asarsha Vidyashram, Alfa Boarding School along with few journalists were present at the demonstration program.

On 14th June 2014, another demonstration was organized in American Corner in Mahendra Pool, Pokhara. The representatives of public libraries, teachers, professors and writers also became a part of this program. Few of the schools and libraries showed keen interest on setting up offline E-Pustakalaya in their respective schools and libraries. The program was able to introduce and provide information about E-Pustakalaya to the concerned organizations and people.
