Two-day Children’s Book Writing Workshop
Venue: RC Complex, Lamachaur, Pokhara (061-440409)
Recognizing the dearth of children’s books in the Nepali language, OLE Nepal has been organizing a series of children’s book writing workshop in various locations Nepal. The workshops bring together authors and writers from the region with the goal of creating children’s books on various topics under the guidance and facilitation of experienced resource persons. The created works from these workshops are edited by well-known writer(s), and they are made child-friendly through the addition of pictures and illustrations before being uploaded to OLE Nepal’s open digital library, E-Pustakakalaya.
The next workshop is being organized in Pokhara on June 13 and 14, where twenty local children’s story writers of various genres will work with well-known authors and resource persons Prof. Churamani Bandu, Prof. Kapil Lamichhane, Dr. Dhruva Ghimire and Mr. Rambabu Subedi to produce read aloud picture books for early readers. The program will consist of sessions on techniques of creating children’s picture books, practising appropriate writing styles, and sharing stories.
