AirAsia Foundation to campaign for OLE Nepal.
May 2015 | Air Asia
AirAsia Foundation is starting a campaign to raise funds for OLE Nepal in support to rebuild and repair damaged schools in Gorkha, an epicenter of the earthquake that hit Nepal on 25th April, 2015. “The campaign, which will take place from May 6 to May 22, 2015, will see donation boxes made available on board AirAsia flights and hub airports, in addition to on-going flight sponsorships for medical and relief aid workers.” AirAsia X Group CEO Kamarudin Meranun said, “In these times of need, we have to play our role by mobilising our network and resources as an airline that cares. This initiative will be kicked off first in Malaysia to be followed by Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and India.”
“Funds raised from the campaign will fully benefit Open Learning Exchange Nepal (OLE Nepal), a Kathmandu-based non-government organization with an established track record working with more than 140 schools in 30 districts across the country to address disparities in education access and quality” states the press release issued by the foundation.
AirAsia and OLE Nepal had collaborated to bring laptop program in Chandi Devi Primary School located in Dukuchap, Lalitpur in 2012. With an amazing effort shown by the school management committee and students, this program has been running smoothly in this school.
OLE Nepal would like to heartily thank AirAsia Foundation for their support and generous effort in raising funds for the benefit of Nepali children. To read full press release issued by the Foundation that joins global efforts in aid to Nepal with #ToNepalwithLove Campaign, please click here
